This assignment is somewhat of a challenge for me due to the fact I’m very uncomfortable about sending emails to people I do not know. However, I did complete the task I spoke with a friend who husband‘s family lives in Australia. It happens that his aunt works in education. I don’t know what development age or her field, but she will get contact information for me. However, I still use the resources provided to send emails to Ghana (2kdotcom@ghana.com) just waiting to hear back. I also sent an email to Blesilda Rios in the Philippines. Hopefully I will hear something back this week.
I decided to view The National Head Start Association because I believe in the Head Start vision to support the whole child; the family and the community. I believe that when you work with the whole family then the community in which they live will change. Head Start supports families that lives in communities were children are vulnerable and at risk. If we can educate the whole child and make them feel good about their accomplishments, then we have created a stronger more vibrant community.

Hi Wanda:
I look forward to learning about Australia and Ghana from you. I sent an email to an organization in Ireland and found they also use HighScope, Head Start's curriculum. It also looks as if they have Head Start centers. It is interesting to find the connections with other countries.

I found it to be very challenging I didn't get in touch with anyone my email kept coming back. I hope something different happens next week since I registered with Professional development for early childhood. Thanks for sharing talk to you later.
Your post was very informational. I am a teacher a a head start program. It is important that we work with the whole family. I do believe that offering support and showing that you care will have an impact on the lives of the children and their family.
Wanda, I felt the same way about this assignment, also in order to eceive some information there are fees to join. It will be interesting to receive information from those thatare in the field.
